USPTO
I was over at the United States Patent and Trademark Office's (USPTO) website http://www.uspto.gov, today. I was looking up if I infringe on any trademarks for a new service that I'm planning on launch in the few weeks. Luckily not. So, afterwards I decided to search other fun terms, one being Sybase. Interesting enough, it seems like recently registered a trademark called, SOA Anywhere. The first time I have heard of that name, but the name implies some type of software leveraging SOA. I guess there will be a product release from them soon about it. But to really get to the point of this, the trademark database is a great way to see what your competitors are planning on doing.

Are you an IT professional?
A few weeks ago while I was in class, the professor asked the class if there were people who didn't know what a blog was. I was very surprised that there were people in the class that didn't. We are talking about IT professionals here, not non-techie people. In the last few months, you can't pick up a computer journal or go to an online computer site that didn't talk about blogging. Even, mainstream magazines like Time and BusinessWeek are covering the topics of blogging and related items.
Maybe these people shouldn't be even be called IT professionals?
