Cell Phone VM

I wish cell phones companies would standardize on their voice mail functionality. When calling people and they don't answer their cell phone for whatever reason and the call goes to VM, I prefer to skip the voice mail message and leave a message ASAP. On a Cingular VM system, pressing 1 will skip the message and jump right to the beep so that you can leave your message right away. Pressing 1 on a Verizon VM system, doesn't have an affect so you have to listen to all stuff before you can leave a message.

On a T-Mobile system, pressing 1 actually gets you into trouble since it indicates you want to sent a page to the recipient. As far as I can tell, there is no way to back out of the page and leave a message instead. Therefore, you have to hang up and call the number again. Grrr...

BTW, on a Cisco VM system, pressing 1 will directly skip the message and go the beep.
